At the height of the Cuban Missile Crisis, a nuclear-armed B-52 bomber goes missing in Alaska. No trace of the aircraft is found and the United States Government chooses to keep the disaster secret to avoid further inflaming domestic and international tension. The disappearance is known as the ‘Alaskan Incident’.
In 2008, a Californian computer programmer, Scott Powell, is developing software that he hopes can be used to locate missing aircraft. When he discovers what appears to be the tail section of a B-52 bomber in a remote part of Alaska, he unknowingly embarks on a course from which there is no turning back. Framed by someone interested in recovering nuclear material for clandestine purposes, Powell is soon being hunted down by the police and the FBI. In a race against time and the need to avoid high-tech mass surveillance, he has to prove his innocence before plutonium found in the wreck can be used in a terrorist attack – or he is killed in the process.

The layout of the book was very well done. It really gave the reader a picture of what was going on in a visual sense. I was also amazed at the background info written into it, keeping the reader informed. Nothing in this book seemed far fetched. I have an interest in aviation so it grabbed me from the start. I also pursue UAV technology as a hobby flying autonomous vehicles for fun so everything fit for me. A thoroughly enjoyable read.Product details

The Alaskan Incident edition by Chris Rudge Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
I initially wondered whether this book would be to my liking as it wasn't my usual genre.
However it piqued my interest very quickly, and soon, it was a real page turner.
As is the case with all good books, I wanted to reach the end, but was sad when I'd finished the last chapter!
A believable plot, full of tension, with just the right mix and balance for a really enjoyable read.
Thanks Chris Rudge.
I look forward to your next novel.
